What this site is

prices.eu.org is an index of free and open data from the EU and its member states. We collect official figures, normalize them and show them here as maps, tables and charts so they are easy to compare. Start anywhere:

• Fuel prices (petrol 95 and diesel, per litre)
• Electricity prices (wholesale and household)
• Euro exchange rates (ECB reference rates)
• Housing costs (house prices, rents, mortgages)
• Grocery prices (food inflation)
• Minimum wages (plus ECB benchmark rates)
• Purchasing power (the Big Mac index)

How each number is computed is explained on the methodology page, and every upstream source is listed on the sources page.

The data: use it freely

The numbers themselves come from public sources and are free. You are welcome to copy, download, quote, remix and republish them, for any purpose including commercial use. All we ask is that you credit the site with a link, for example "Data via prices.eu.org", so others can check the original sources too.

AI agents and bots: welcome

Automated agents are explicitly welcome to read, index and reuse the data, including scraping if you need to. Please be polite (one request per second per page is plenty, this is a small static site) and credit prices.eu.org as the source in your dataset or model output where reasonable.

Machine readable pointers: see /llms.txt (also mirrored at /ai.txt) and our sitemap. Bulk JSON snapshots for every category (for example /data/fuel_latest.json) are free to fetch the same way.

The site itself: please do not clone it

The code, design, texts and presentation (layout, styling, wording, map rendering) are ours. Do not copy and paste whole pages or republish the site as your own.

Screenshots are fine. You may take screenshots of any page and use or share them anywhere, for example in articles, reports, slides or social media posts. A link back is appreciated but not required for screenshots.

No warranties

Figures are for information only. Averages hide regional variation, and mistakes happen upstream or in our scripts. Always verify critical numbers against the linked original sources. We are not affiliated with the EU, the ECB, Eurostat or any national provider. To the extent permitted by law, we provide everything "as is" without warranties.

Privacy and contact

We do not track you: see the privacy policy. The site runs behind Cloudflare for speed and abuse protection; that changes nothing about the no tracking promise above. Questions or corrections: [email protected].
